Our regular Starrett Drive Pin Punchs are made of hardened, tempered steel to with stand heavy duty times is too hard and can damage softer materials. The Starrett B565 brass punch is ideal for these applications as they are much softer than the steel version. The brass is less able to stand up to years of hard use. Ideally, it is good to have sets of both types and use the brass punch only when there is the possibility of damage to the work piece.
